Participants will learn to use a wide variety of online educational resources and technology tools to enrich learning experiences for students and enhance their own teaching. This is an online course that will be delivered though Canvas, a learning management system. Participants will need basic computer and internet skills and the ability to work independently within a learning management system.

For successful completion of this course, participants must intend to deliver instruction through the online environment. The instruction may be designed to supplement an in-person class and interactions, but the content created in the Canvas LMS throughout the course must be tied together around a meaningful unit of instruction and clear learning goals.

Creative APP-titude: iPad Multimedia Tools

The iPad includes a powerful collection of multimedia tools that provide new and innovative ways for students to demonstrate their learning through creative and motivating projects. This day long course is designed to help educators effectively integrate this technology into a project-based educational framework. Participants will learn to plan, teach, manage and evaluate a variety of student created multimedia projects and tie it to the core curriculum. Additional topics include finding free educational resources.

Participants will learn how to design and deliver instruction to students using the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). Based on their own grade level or subject-area specialty, participants will become familiar with creating objectives, rubrics, quizzes/surveys, assignments, discussions and other important features of the Canvas LMS. The aspects of a blended classroom approach will also be covered.
